Position: Chief Clerk – Payroll

Salary: Task Level 08 – Basic salary per annum: R207 533.52 – R269 397.36

Type: Permanent

Duties

In this Chief Clerk Payroll position, you will be working under the Financial Services Department, in the Expenditure Division and Payroll Section. We have listed the main duties of this position, we hope it can help you decide if this is the job that you’re looking for! 

  • Coordinates and controls the application of payroll procedures

    • Managing the processing, verification, and reconciliation of salaries

    • Generating and interpreting payroll reports. 

  • Staff management

    • Direct supervision of (5) staff members.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • 2 – 3 years’ in a local government environment

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Computer literacy
