Please mention the required reference number of this post, ITSH 08/2019. Up to two positions are available, i.e. Grade 1 and Grade 2. Salary also differs according to the position appointed:
- Grade 1: R 362 559 annually
- Grade 2: R 445 917 annually
Requirements:
- Grade 1:
- A matric certificate
- A qualification equivalent to degree or diploma in General Nursing or an actual degree/diploma would be an advantage. Such qualification should allow registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse and Midwife
- One year post-basic qualification in Specialty
- At least four years of recognisable or appropriate experience in Nursing post-registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in general nursing (proof of experience should by verified by HR and attached in the application along with the SANC receipt for 2019
- Grade 2:
- A matric certificate
- A qualification equivalent to degree or diploma in General Nursing or an actual degree/diploma would be an advantage. Such qualification should allow registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse and Midwife
- One year post-basic qualification in Specialty
- At least 14 years of recognisable or appropriate experience in nursing post-registration with SANC in General Nursing and Midwifery. 10 years of this period must be recognisable experience in the particular Specialty after attaining the relevant one year post-basic qualification needed for the relevant Specialty
- Current registration with SANC as Midwife, General Nurse and operating Theatre

Upon appointment, the Professional Nurse Specialty Theatre vacancies at itshelejuba Hospital will have the future qualified incumbents perform the following tasks:
- Provision of holistic, optimal specialise nursing care provided within set standards as well as Professional / legal standards
- Ensure accurate and complete Patients records in line with legal requirements
- Compile and analyse statistics
- Take part in auditing of clinical charts and QIPs
- Take part in the implementation of National Core Standards, guidelines, protocols
- Use allocate resources effectively
- Provision of effective support to nursing services
- Help with the supervision and development of staff
- Provide atherapeutic, safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff and visitors
- Take part in the care of swabs and instruments in Theatre
- Prepare for the operations ensuring smooth running of theatre
- facilitate immediate care to all patients those have been operated
- Take part in training and research and programmes, such as IPC, Quality assurance
- Ensure the availability of the necessary basic equipment and stock
- Ensure professional growth/ethical standards and self- development
- Promote good working relationship with multidisciplinary team
