Requirements:
To qualify as a Grade 1 candidate, applicants must possess a matric certificate and a nursing degree or diploma. This qualification should enable registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife. Following this, candidates must obtain a specialty qualification. The final requirement is four years of post-registration nursing experience, which must be verified by the Human Resources department and supported by a 2019 SANC receipt.
For Grade 2 candidates, the initial requirements mirror those of Grade 1, with a matric certificate and the same nursing qualifications being necessary. However, the experience requirements differ significantly. Candidates must have 14 years of post-registration nursing experience. Within this period, 10 years should be specialized in a particular field, following the completion of a one-year post-basic qualification.
In addition to the experience requirements, Grade 2 candidates must hold current SANC registration in three specific areas: as a Midwife, a General Nurse, and an Operating Theatre specialist. This comprehensive set of qualifications and experience ensures that Grade 2 candidates are highly skilled and specialized in their respective fields.
