Wits Bursary StatPro for Software Development is accessible and open for the potential and promising candidates. There are many students struggling with financial condition and hardship. With the bursary, it is expected that these students can alleviate their (financial) burden and continue their study to obtain the degree they want. With the bursary, candidates can reach their dream and obtain the better future they want.
About the Program
StatPro South Africa (Pty) Ltd is a member of the StatPro Group that is operating in Cape Town. In their efforts to contribute to society and give back to the community, they are offering a financial assistance to black students of South Africa as their continuous support to B-BBEE Act. The bursary is meant and designed for students taking an accredited and reputable university in South Africa toward the honour degree, taking subjects in Computer Science or other computer-related subjects or degrees.
The bursary is given for a period of one year, covering:
100% university tuition fees, including exam fees an registration fees
Around R5 000 for the prescribed textbooks
An exposure to the software development environment
A learnership opportunity for 12 months with StatPro with the potential opportunity for the full employment thereafter
Support and mentorship during your study year
The Requirements
There are several basic and general requirements that all candidates of Wits Bursary StatPro for Software Development program should follow. The requirements are:
The priority of the bursary will be given to Colored, Chinese, Indian, and African students that are citizens of South Africa by descent or birth – proven by a legit and valid ID document
They must take a full time study
They must be interested in the software development career
They must be included as the Honours students who are taking the subject in Computer Science or other degrees in computer-related subjects
They should be university students with average academic achievement of at least 60% in two years
They must submit Matriculants results and have level 5 as the minimum grade in English First
They should master level 5 in language or English Second Language and also Mathematics
How to Apply
Interested candidates need to submit an application form along the supporting documents that include:
A complete and updated CV
The official academic transcripts for your Grade 12 result
A certified copy of the ID document
The official tertiary courses academic transcripts to date
A written (character) reference that includes the contact details
An essay of 1,500 words on the disruptive technology and the potential impact the technology can have for business organization in South Africa

Please be advised that after applications are considered, shortlisted candidates would be listed. And only they would be contacted for the interview session.
