Western Cape Nursing Vacancies Grade 1 and Grade 2

If you are thinking about having a career change in managerial sector, then the Western Cape Professional Nursing vacancies may seem like a good option. This position requires a professional and experienced nurse in Occupational Health. For this position, there will be Grade 1 and Grade 2 that are needed. For Grade 1 candidates, the offered salary is R383 226 an annum. For Grade 2 candidates, the offered salary is R471 333 an annum. The positions required qualified, experienced, and skilled candidates to fill. They will be placed at Western Cape College of Nursing

The Requirements

There are some basic requirements that all candidates must meet to qualify for this Western Cape Professional Nursing program:

  • They must be the citizens of South Africa
  • They must have any criminal record or any pending charges
  • They must have a basic R425 qualification in Nursing Degree or Diploma or within the equivalent qualification enabling them to register with SANC (South African Council) as a professional and skilled nurse
  • They must have a post basic nursing ability or qualification for a minimum a year of accreditation with SANC within Occupational Health Nursing Science
  • They must register with a professional and accredited council
  • They must register with SANC for a Professional Nurse job and show the proof (of the annual registration) with it

Candidates with the extra qualifications will get the added benefits:

  • For Grade 1, they must have at least 4 years of recognizable experience (in nursing) after being registered as Professional Nurse in General Nursing with SANC
  • For Grade 2, they must have at least 14 years of recognizable experience after being registered as Professional Nurse in General Nursing with SANC
  • They must have a minimum of 10 years of recognizable experience within the specific qualification of specialty after getting the 1 year of post-basic in Occupational Health Nursing Science
  • They must be willing to travel to campuses
  • They must have a valid driver license in Code EB or B
  • They must have a good communication skill in written and verbal forms – at least mastering 2 of the 3 official languages in Western Cape area
  • They must have the practical knowledge of Risk Management and Occupational Health
  • They must have the practical knowledge of Quality Management and Research Methodology
  • They must have good computer skills

Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks

  • Providing student or occupational health services while referring to the appropriate care level when needed
  • Coordinating and maintaining occupational health services across (WCCN) campuses
  • Providing advisory services on IPC and OHS matters
  • Dealing with Student Health or Occupational Clinic
  • Coordinating wellness and health promotion initiatives
