The Rustenburg Local Municipality is situated in the North West province. It is one of the five municipalities in the Bojanala Platinum District. Rustenburg is a large town located at the bottom of the Magaliesberg Mountain Range and is, as a matter of fact, the most highly populated area within the North West Province. The Category B of the municipalities objectives are: to assure efficient quality basic infrastructure and service; maintain a safe, healthy, clean and green municipal environment; drive economic growth and job creation; uphold public participation principles as well as good governance; to assure municipal financial viability and many more. One of the tangible solutions to provide access to education to its citizens is through the Rustenburg Municipality Bursary 2019.

  • Agriculture Science
  • Finance
  • Information Technology
  • Engineering

Eligibility criteria

In order to be fully entitled to this program, all interested applicants must satisfy the following minimum suitability requirements. Note that, failure to meet all these criteria will inevitably lead to your application not being regarded.

  • Be a South African citizen who reside in the Rustenburg Local Municipal area
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must plan on studying or be studying as a full time student in one of the aforementioned programs at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa (must have been accepted or provisionally accepted to study at the Institution)
  • Applicants with the highest academic results will receive preference
  • Monthly income of parents or guardians must not be more than R 3500
  • Previously disadvantaged and disabled applicants are all welcome to apply

How to Apply

Then, complete the form and submit it along with these mandatory supporting documents:

  • Certified copy of ID document, matric latest results or certificate and ID of parents’ or guardians
  • Proof of provisionally acceptance or admission from a tertiary institute
  • Quote from the tertiary institute, including prescribed books, cost of tuition and accommodation. Note that, the institute must have a valid Tax Clearance Certificate
  • Proof of income of parents/guardians such as latest payslips or affidavit/pension slip (certified copy)
  • Proof of residence
