Job Description
Your application must quote the reference number of this post which is 18/25C/KZN. The qualified incumbent will be receiving salary that is in accordance with OSD determination. The amount every year ranging from R 168 828 up to R 867 399. Furthermore, the qualified applicant will also be asked to sign a performance agreement. In order to be eligible to apply for the Registrar vacancy at Magistrate Office, applicants must possess an LLB qualification. However, if you hold a four year recognised legal qualification then it will be acceptable as well. Candidates are not required to have previous legal experience to apply. Additionally, having a valid driver’s license in mandatory.

Key Performance Areas
- Co-ordinate case flow management support services to the judiciary
- Handle all processes that initiate court proceedings
- Grant and process judgments by defaults as needed by the Magistrates Court Act, 1994 at the relevant court
- Check, keep, issue and analyse court statistics
- Process court orders
- Handle the criminal and civil sections including divorce cases
- Provide assistance to the public relating court procedures
- Attend to appeals and reviews
- Implement rules, practices, procedures as well as costs periodically in cooperation with the Court Manager and judiciary
- Handle court information relevant to criminal and civil sections including submission of returns to the Court Manager and the Department and keeping of statistics
- Implement control over case records and the record room as well as handle the files in terms of the Archives Act or Code
- Execute request from and give attention to the judiciary related to cases and other cases related stuff
- Ensure notation of relevant codes, publications, rules and acts
- Respond and write to correspondence
- Provide assistance and practical training to the clerks of court in the lower courts
