Job Description

The successful incumbent will be receiving a level seven salary that has a total amount of R 242 475 annually. To be eligible for the Personal Assistant vacancy at Western Cape Government, candidates are required to hold at least a Grade 12 certificate or any of its equivalency along with an office Administration, Secretarial diploma or certificate. It is also expected that applicants possess at least three years of prior working experience in the relevant field rendering support service to Senior Management.

Recommendations: ability to work effectively in a very dynamic office, ability to stress tolerance, willingness to work irregular hours, ability to liaise with diverse people, attention to detail as well as a be in possession of a valid code B driving license

  • Advanced computer literacy skills
  • Good planning and organising skills


  • Be responsible for providing a secretarial support service to the manager
  • Be responsible for rendering administrative support services
  • Be responsible for providing support to the manager in terms of the administration of the manager’s budget
  • Be responsible for providing support to the manager in terms of meetings
  • Be responsible for studying the relevant public service as well as departmental policies or prescripts and other documents
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the application thereof is understood properly
