Job Description

The successful incumbent will be stationed in Pretoria. This job offers a salary which amounts to R 196 407 per annum. In order to be qualified for the position, applicants are required to hold at least a senior certificate or equivalent NQF level 4 certificate. This qualification must be accompanied by a secretarial certificate or diploma or any of its relevant qualification. Furthermore, it is necessary for candidates to have at least one year experience in conducting administrative or secretarial support to senior management.

The Personal Assistant vacancy at the Department of Health also requires each candidate to have the following knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of departmental procedures regarding to budgeting and finance
  • Indepth and sound knowledge of relevant application and prescripts of human resources and understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organization and planning skills
  • Computer literacy like MS Office package
  • Telephone etiquette

Once you are qualified for the job, below are some of the duties that you can expect to be involved in:

  • Conduct receptionist or secretarial support services to the director
  • Conduct administrative support services
  • Collect inputs and compile records
  • Ensure the effective flow of documents and information from and to the office of the director
  • Provide support to the director in terms of meetings
  • Records decisions or minutes and communicate to relevant role-players as well as follow-up progress made
  • Provide support to managers with the administration of the director’s budget
  • Obtain and coordinate all the documents that relate to the director’s budget
  • Take care of filling system
  • Ensure the safekeeping of every document in the office of the director as stipulated by the relevant policies and legislation
