Successful incumbent will be stationed at Uniondale Hospital situated in Eden District. This job offers salary amounting to R 96 549 per annum. No matric certificate is needed in order to be eligible. As long as you have basic literacy and numeracy skills, there is a good chance you’ll be qualified for the job. It is also expected that candidates be in possession of appropriate experience in a large food service unit.
The required competencies and skills for Food Services Aid vacancy at Uniondale Hospital are as follows:
- Willingness to work overtime and shifts. This also includes public holidays as well as weekends
- Must be strong as well as healthy enough to lift heavy objects
- Must be fit to be on their feet all day
- Good knowledge of hygiene as well as Occupational Health, HACCP as well as safety principles
- Good written and verbal communication ability in at two or three of the official languages of the Western Cape
Once you are qualified for the job, you will be involved in but not limited to the following key performance areas:
- Be responsible for assisting in receipt and storing of all stock and provisions in the food service unit
- Be responsible for producing and preparing all therapeutic and normal diets
- Be responsible for dishing, weighing and distributing foods to the wards
- Be responsible for cleaning all utensils, areas as well as equipment in the Food Service Department
- Be responsible for adhering to and following the elementary control measures, Health and Safety prescripts as well as standard operating procedures
- Be responsible for providing milk feeds to babies that are made and safe according to the Standard Operational Plan
