About the Bursary

Founded in 1967, Epilepsy South Africa used to be known as the South African National Epilepsy League. This non-profit organisation is also the only national organisation that exists in the country that provides specialised and comprehensive services to persons affected by epilepsy as well as other disabilities. This organisation aims to improve the lives of its target group along with South Africans with hydrocephalus, intellectual disabilities and speech impairments. The national office is situated in Cape Town and has 6 regional branches located all across the country. The primary mission of the Epilepsy South Africa is to promote human rights. One way to do that is by announcing the Epilepsy South African Trust Bursary 2018-19 for students with epilepsy who wish to pursue a study towards a degree qualification. The qualified students will receive funding to cover tuition costs amounting from R 5,000 up to R 30,000. The successful incumbents will meet in November in order to review applications.
