The Company is owned by Cipla India. It is, as a matter of fact, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the country according to their value and volume. Cipla Medpor is the first company to launch a triple combination ARV medication in Africa. This event was internationally recognised and they have managed to treat millions of patients since 2001. The Company provides patients with a vast array of over-the-counter as well as scheduled prescription medication for a wide range of diseases and illnesses.

This year, through its Cipla bursary program for South African students 2019, the Company wishes to provide financial support to all the qualified candidates to attend undergraduate studies.

The bursary is available for pursuing the following study programs:

  • Finance, BCom
  • Accounting, BCom
  • Electrical Engineering, BSc
  • Chemical Engineering, BSc
  • Logistic Management, BCom
  • Mechanical Engineering, BSc
  • Industrial Engineering, BSc
  • Chemistry, BTech or BSc
  • Microbiology, BTech or BSc
  • Production, Regulatory, Quality, BPharmacy
  • Biochemistry, Btech or BSc

Suitability criteria:

In order to be fully entitled to this program, please make sure you fulfil all these requirements below.

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must be between the age of 16 and 25 years old
  • Must be studying in one of the fields of study listed above (can be in their first, second or third year of study
  • Must be registered as a student at a recognised as well as accredited South African institute
  • Must have achieved at least average of 70% for current studies
  • Must have passed all subjects or modules in previous semester or year
  • Must come from a group defined by BBBEE criteria
  • Must not be current recipient of any other form of funding

As part of your application, please provide clear copies of these mandatory documents. Note that, failure to include all these materials will definitely lead to the disregarding of your application.

  • A CV
  • Latest academic record or transcripts

Complete and submit your application no later than December 29, 2018 in order to be considered.

All qualified students will receive acknowledgment by January 15, 2019 at the latest. In case you do not receive any notifications, please consider your application as unsuccessful.
