Summary
The future incumbent will be stationed at the Office of the Surveyor General of the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform located in Bloemfontein, Free State. This job offers a level 6 salary amounting to R 196 407 annually. To be eligible for this vacancy, candidates must hold at least Grade 12 or Senior certificate accompanied by Cadastral or Survey Officer Certificate. It is also required that candidates be in possession of a two year training experience according to Cadastral/Survey Officer’s course requirements. This also includes rotation through divisions.

Job Responsibilities
- Be responsible for capturing alpha numeric data of cadastral documents
- Be responsible for capturing property description of GPs, diagrams and sectional titles with relevant SG number
- Be responsible for electronic and manual archiving of cadastral documents
- Update and scan historical or new approved diagrams, sectional titles, GPs, comps and saving into the archiving room or database
- Conduct technical examination of cadastral documents
- Examine GPs, diagrams and sectional titles in line with the Land Survey Act
- Plot new cadastral surveys according to existing cadastral position
- Attend to over the counter clients
- Make sure data issued to clients are legible and correct
- Capture boundary descriptions of GPs and diagrams to construct continuous map and save them to spatial database
- Plot coordinates of historical or new approved GPs and diagrams in order to attain position
- Provide cadastral information to clients
- Handle SG data email requests
- Attend to research jobs
- Make sure the clients are always informed regarding the progress
- Update, capture and maintain spatial data
