Qualified candidate will be offered a permanent position and will receive a level 7 salary which amounts to R 242 475 per annum. To be eligible for this job, applicants must be in possession of at least a matric certificate or equivalent. Should you have a recognised tertiary qualification in Accounting or Financial Management (REQV 13) then it would add value to your application for the Bursary Administration vacancy at Thekwini TVET College. Having a valid driver’s license is mandatory along with a minimum three years of relevant working experience in administrative environment (one year of supervisory or financial aid experience).
Required skills and knowledge
- Sound financial knowledge
- Excellent computer skills, MS Power Point, MS Word and advanced MS Excel skills
- Sound Coltech knowledge as well as experience (modules related to this post)
- Well-developed communication skills both verbal and written
- Good presentation skills
- Willingness to travel, work irregular hours and capacity to work under pressure
- Able to work in a team
- Good interpersonal skills
- Fluency in both English and IsiZulu language (not compulsory but recommended)
Job Duties:
- Supervise financial aid department in line with DHET and college policies
- Make sure all submitted financial aid applications and documentation are all accurately recorded
- Make sure all receipts have been allocated to student accounts, i.e. unallocated deposits
- Be responsible for preparing regular management reports on status of bursary applications
- Prepare documentation for the approval of funds
- Communicate guidelines to campus student liaison officers in terms of bursary applications
- Maintain constant updated records of all applications as well as the relevant documentation and status
