About the Position

The Western Cape government within the Provincial Treasury has opened a program for qualified and professional individual who aren’t afraid of challenges. The opportunity is opened to administer and manage the budget concerns within the Department, especially related to documents drafting within specific formats, control and observation over revenue and expenditure, and to make and deliver continuous report. The candidate would also be responsible for drafting the Departmental Annual Report, with the base position in Cape Town. The candidate will receive salary level 9, which can be up to R 376 596 per year

The Requirements

To be qualified for this Assistant Manager at Western Cape Department of Treasury position, there are several qualifications and requirements that candidates must meet. The basic and specific requirements include:

·         The candidates must be the citizens of South Africa

·         They must have the appropriate B-Degree or National Diploma (for 3-year tertiary education) in Finance Management.

·         Candidates who have at least 3 years of supervisory working experience within a financial environment would have the advantages

·         Candidates who have the relevant experience within Budgeting process would be an advantage

·         Candidates who have the experience in BAS or Basic Accounting System would also have the advantage

The Responsibility

By becoming the Assistant Manager at Western Cape Department of Treasury, the candidate will have the responsibilities and duties in:

·         Monitoring, managing, reporting, and controlling the expenditure and revenue

·         Managing the MTEF (Medium Term Expenditure Framework) budgeting process, and it includes main budget management and compilation

·         Adjusting the estimate budget

·         Being responsible for the Coordination of the Departmental Annual Report

Potential candidates should have these qualifications as they have the extensive knowledge (and also the experience) in:

·         Financial Norms and the standards

·         Basic Accounting System

·         Basic computer programs, especially the MS Office

·         Having the experience in adjustment estimate process
