By the second year of service, the recruits will be deployed in various locations and given the opportunity to apply their knowledge and develop their skills through hands-on experience. SAMHS MSDS Requirements

There are certain requirements that applicants must meet in order to be considered for the SAMHS MSDS 2023 Program.

First, applicants must be South African citizens and not hold dual citizenship. They must also fall within the age range of 18-22 years old (Grade 12) or 18-26 years old (3 years tertiary qualification). They must also have an Admission Point Service (APS) score of 24 and above, excluding Life Orientation. It is important to note that applicants with a criminal record or pending cases will not be considered.
