About the Program
Saldanha Bay Municipality Student Bursary program will be provided to students from the University or Technology University taking various subjects. The idea is to provide financial help for students, especially the ones with impressive academic records and achievement, and yet coming from disadvantage background and poor families.
The company invites and encouraged first-year students (for the academic year of 2020) to apply for the bursary. The program itself will be extended to 3 years period, max, depending on the students’ ability to adhere to the given conditions and requirements. Restrictions of the bursary include a full-time study as well as full-time attendance within an accredited and reputable University of Technology or University. Students must also show the proof that their guardians or parents are residing in Saldanha Bay Municipal Area. The estimated maximum amount for the bursary is around R70 000 for a student.
The students have to take a National Diploma or Undergraduate Degree within these subjects:
- Risk Management
- Electrical Engineering
- Surveying
- Finance
- Civil Engineering
- Economics
- Internal Auditing
- Accounting
- Supply Chain Management
The Requirements
There are several basic and general requirements that candidates need to meet for this Saldanha Bay Municipality Student Bursary program, such as:
- The candidates must be the citizens of South Africa
- They must be at least 18 years old
- They must be able to show the letter of acceptance from one of the reputable and accredited university and from within the subjects mentioned above
- They must not have any criminal record
- They must have completed Matric
- Preferences would be given to students with disabilities and students from disadvantaged family or community
How to Apply
Completed application form should be accompanied with supporting documents during submission. Submitting the form is only done in one way: to submit it to Human Resource Services at Private Bag X12, Vredenburg 7380.
The supporting documents may include (but not limited to):
- A certified copy of South African ID document
- A certified copy of Matric certificate
- Certified copies of qualifications
- The latest academic record
- An updated CV
Interested candidates need to download an application form first (from this link) and then complete it. They can download it from this link or they can get one from the offices of Municipality’s Human Resource Management during business hours, which last between 8 AM and 16.30 PM. The staff won’t serve or help candidates who are coming not in between those hours.
