Palabora Copper Ltd is officially opening their door and inviting potential candidates to take part in their in-service training program – a rare opportunity that is designed to help qualified young candidates to gain the professional experience they need. The focus of this Palabora Mine In-Service Training program is to attract candidates studying towards professional qualification and wanting to gain National Diploma. These youth are often in a search of relevant and related work experience to enrich their knowledge and skills. Through this program, they can finally get what they want.
The program is designed to last for a year (12 months) and the candidates are expected to sign an in-service contract with the company. By the time they have completed the program, it is expected that they will have gained all the skills and abilities needed for better career prospects in the future.
The program is set to cover these study fields:
- Mine Surveying
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering (only Extractive)
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)
The Requirements
There are some basic and general requirements that all candidates must meet in order to be qualified for this Palabora Mine In-Service Training program. The requirements are:
- They must be the citizens of South Africa
- They must have completed S4
- They must be within the age range between 18 and 35 years old
- They must not have any criminal records or any pending criminal case
- They must be unemployed currently
- Candidates with driver license would have an added advantage
- Candidates living in Ba-Phalaborwa area would have better preference
