About the Program
Overberg District Municipality is offering the opportunity for those living in the area to take part in Overberg District Municipality Bursary program. The location is set in Western Cape. They understand that many potential students are left alone, having to struggle financially to meet their needs. With this bursary, they expect to help these students so they can focus on their study without having to worry about a thing.
The bursary itself is awarded to students with the purpose to help students grow and develop. There are many potential students within the Municipal area coming from disadvantaged social groups. There are also many promising and bright individuals with disabilities that aren’t able to continue their dream to a higher tertiary education.
There are several study fields offered for the candidates. Students who take these subjects can apply for a chance of getting the financial help:
- Internal Audit
- Supply Chain Management
- Risk Management
In order to qualify for the Overberg District Municipality Bursary program, candidates are expected to meet the general requirements set by the admission board. The requirements include:
- They must be the citizens of South Africa
- They must not have any criminal record
- The financial help will be given to students from disadvantaged social group. However, it will also be given to those above the poverty line and yet still can’t pay for the tertiary education costs.
- They must be able to prove the parents or guardians’ status. The confirmation should be done by the local municipality and it must include the confirmation of number of siblings going to school (confirmation from their schools), the parents employment status or profile (including the payment proof), and also home economic situation
How to Apply
Interested candidates can send their application letter along with the important supporting documents. The documents include: certified copies of qualification, a certified copy of South African ID document, an updated and comprehensive CV, and a motivational letter (from the Head Master). All of those documents should be sent to The Human Resource Officer, Overberg District Municipality, 26 Long Street, Private Bag X22, Bredasdorp 7280. The application forms would be available at all offices of Overberg District Municipality. Be advised that missing a document will make the application ignored so be sure that all of them are complete.
Candidates must also bear in mind that preferences would be granted to qualified applications, especially those who have secured admission within reputable and credible tertiary institutions.
