Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent is government agent that is offering the so-called MISA Apprenticeship program for those who are interested in the job. As a part of DcoG (Department of Cooperative Governance), the agent is established to build and provide technical support and also (technical) capacities for municipalities to improve their capability to comprehend and understand delivery, operations, planning, and maintenance of infrastructure municipalities. About the Program
MISA is working together with LGSETA (Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority) to provide and offer apprenticeship opportunity. They help the candidates through intensive training for the entire improvement of municipal operation and also maintenance ability.
MISA Apprenticeship program gives a great working and professional exposure for candidates. All successful candidates would then be placed within the right place and location, depending on the municipalities’ needs and requirements.
This MISA Apprenticeship program is a part of 3 years MISA internship project aimed to South African youth who had the interest in the field and the relevant qualification for the job. There are 5 main positions for this year’s program, including:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Bricklaying
- Motor mechanic
- Diesel mechanic
Each position has its own academic and general requirements. Interested candidates should visit the official website to learn the details of the program and everything. Successful candidates must be able and be willing for placement, which includes relocation and placement to other private sector organizations or municipalities. Although MISA doesn’t guarantee any post-qualification employment chance, they make sure that all candidates get enough training and professional exposure that can be beneficial for their personal as well as professional development (and career).

- A CV
- The reference number for the applied position or trade
- A certified copy of South African ID document
- A proof of residential address
- Certified copies of all relevant qualifications, such as education, previous working experience, etc
Important Considerations
- MISA has the right to or not to make appointments
- If you haven’t been contacted in 90 days, consider your application to be rejected.
- The application takes place online. It means post, fax, and hand delivery application won’t be accepted.
- All successful candidates are subjected to medical and physical fitness test
