Up to four Judge’s Secretary positions are open for application at:

  • Free State High Court (Bloemfontein), ref. no: 2018/359/OCJ
  • Labour Court (Durban), ref. no: 2018/361/OCJ

  • Grahamstown High Court, ref. no: 2018/362/OCJ

All positions offer salary amounting to R 242 475 to R 285 630 annually. Furthermore, all qualified incumbents will also be required to sign a performance agreement prior to commencing their duties. In order to be eligible for these positions, all interested candidates must hold at least a Grade 12 certificate or its equivalent qualification. This academic qualification must be accompanied by three years of secretarial experience as well. Responsibilities:

  • Format or type draft memorandum opinions, decision or judgment entries are written by assigned Judge
  • Provide general administrative or secretarial duties to the Judge
  • Type and manage correspondence
  • Orders and judgments for the judge
  • Diarise and arrange appointments as well as meetings for official visits and make accommodation as well as travel arrangements
  • Safeguard of all case files and endorsement of case files with an order made by Judge
  • Update documents, files and provide copies of documents to the Registrar
  • Conduct digital recording of court proceedings on urgent court cases after hours
  • Keep, store and file court records safely
  • Accompany the Judge to the Courts
  • Manage Judge’s vehicle, driving and logbook thereof
  • Prepare reports and gather data and documents for assigned Judge as needed
  • Execute legal research as directed by the Judge
