The Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform has an Entrepreneurial Graduate Internship Programme 2023/24. This is a programme for unemployed agricultural graduates to learn skills to be entrepreneurs.
There are 120 participants that this programme looks for. They will spend 24 months together and learn entrepreneurial skills during the programme.

Salary: R87 000 per annum, (all inclusive)

Duties
As interns, you will have several responsibilities while joining the programme. And those responsibilities are as follow:
- Perform farm-work duties in relation to the commodity requirements to improve productivity at the commercial farm.
- Attend training relevant to farm commodities in management skills, business management skills and record keeping.
- Learn business growth skills and acquire resource management skills and knowledge.
- Attend and arrange meetings with strategic partners and other stakeholders such as market institutions, supplier production inputs / infrastructure and farmers.
- Perform overtime duties when required.
- Write monthly and quarterly reports.
Eligibility and Requirements
The minimum requirements to join this internship are as follow:
- National Diploma (ND) in Agriculture (NQF level 6) as recognized by SAQA.
- Applicants should be between the ages of 18-35 years.
Other details about the internship are listed below:
- Candidates must be entering the Internship Programme in Government for the first time.
- All successful applicants will be mentored and guided by the Commercial Farmer.
- Be ready to be deployed to any section within the farm to gain more knowledge.
- Private studying during the 24 months Graduate Internship Programme will not be allowed.
