About BMW

Who doesn’t know BMW? It is a luxury vehicle brand and manufacturer from Germany that was first established more than 100 years ago. The brand is also responsible for producing Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and Mini.

That’s why the company is always trying to find the potential and promising youth that can meet the high demands of the skills.

About the Program

As it was mentioned before, the company is always on a lookout for the potential work force. Every year, they offer the BMW learnership program to the potential and deserving students. The program itself is done by BMW Technical Training Department and it will last for around 3 years.

Through the program and during the learnership course, the candidates will get the knowledge and also relevant skills to undertake and go through the technical requirements and skills on the job. For this sector, they mainly will focus on the Autotronics and Mechatronics. In most cases, the program will take place at some of the external service providers that are accredited by BMW. Once the program completes, the candidates will have obtained all the working experience and skills specific to the company (BMW) along with the recognized qualification as artisan.

The Requirements

All learnership programs have their own standard of measurement and skill, and BMW learnership isn’t different. There are several basic requirements that all candidates need to meet, such as:

·         The candidates must be the citizen of South Africa that can be proven by valid and legal ID document

·         They must have completed Matric – and have the certificate

·         They must obtain 50% as the minimum pass mark for Mathematics (in Matric)

·         They must obtain 50% as the minimum pass mark for Science (in Matric)

·         They must be willing to go through the learnership program for 3 years

The application process will take place online. Interested candidates (who are qualified and meet the requirements) must send their application to the provided email at careers.bmwza@bmw.co.za. Don’t forget to write ‘learnership’ on the subject line.

Along the application letter, you need to include the supporting documents consisting of:

·         A certified copy of ID document

·         A certified copy of Matric certificate

·         A certified copy of full academic record

·         A motivational letter

·         A CV
