Job Details
Both successful incumbents will be stationed in Pretoria. Interested candidates must hold at least a Grade 10 or equivalent qualification as the minimum educational requirement. This qualification should be accompanied by a completed apprenticeship as well as passed trade test in Electronic Origination or Pre-press with five years of post-qualification experience. It would also serve as a plus if candidates also possess a Grade 12 certificate. - Computer skills in Apple Mac with Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to take a project from brief to print, including concept as well as finished art
- Advanced typing skills
- Knowledge of commercialised printing as well as printing processes
- Good communication skills
- Problem solving, organising and planning skills
- Knowledge of CTP is mandatory
The duties that come with this position are as follows:
- Proof reading of jobs
- Handle quality of designs during the course of all phases of a project
- Perform scanning of jobs
- Mentor and manage artisan (designers)
- Liaising with clients
- Imposition jobs and printing of plates
- Rubberstamp Production (reference number: GPW 19/01)
- Excellent understanding of printing process
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe CS6 and CorelDraw is a necessity
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent reading skills
- Quality conscious
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
The duties that come with this position include:
- Overseeing the rubberstamp production section
- Creating quotations, layout and design of stamps according to client requirements
- Editing and proofing of copy for rubberstamps
- Liaising with clients
- Managing stock and consumables
- Mentoring and managing junior artisans or support staff
