Applicants are now invited for the Administrator Clerk vacancy at the Department of Defence. Individuals with a passion in clerical environment are encouraged to apply. Anyone with a Grade 12 qualification or its equivalent is eligible to submit their application.

Job Description

This job position offers a level 5 salary which amounts to R163 563 per annum. The qualified candidate will be placed in Legsato, Thana Tshwane which is situated in Pretoria. The minimum requirement for this position is an NQF level 4 (Grade 12 certificate). However, any qualification equivalent to that is also acceptable. Should you possess an appropriate academic qualification in the field of administration or its relevant subject then it will serve as an added advantage. Candidates are required to have basic knowledge and understanding of records management practices and procedures as well as office administration. Furthermore, it is also compulsory that applicants possess the following special skills:

  • Computer literacy (MS powerpoint, MS excel, and Word)
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Good planning, coordination and organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain discipline
  • Ability to interpret policy directives

Once you are qualified for the Administrator Clerk vacancy at the Department of Defence, below are some of the duties you can expect to perform:

  • Conduct clerical service to Legsato Thaba Tshwane
  • Record and receive outgoing and incoming mail such as submissions, packages, and letters
  • Send, receive and manage facsimiles
  • Ensure filling, identification, receipt, safe keeping and dispatching of official correspondence when in use
  • Make sure distribution lists is always updated for circulars, circular minutes, etc
  • Maintain an effective filling system
  • Make sure all office equipment is in good working state for the directorate
  • Help with the maintenance and monitoring of office equipment and inventories
