Job Description

Candidates are required to input the reference number of this advert within their application form, which is FIN 02/09/2018. This position offers a level five salary which amounts to R 163 563 every year. The future qualified candidate will be stationed at the Department’s head office in Kimberley. In order to be entitled to the Accounting Clerk vacancy at Department of Environment and Nature Conservation, applicants must hold at least a Grade 12 certificate along with a minimum of two year previous working experience. Furthermore, it is mandatory that candidates have computer literacy. Knowledge of BAS, PERSAL, and LOGIS will be an added bonus.

Required competencies

  • Knowledge of treasury regulations, PFMA, and standard chart of accounts
  • Knowledge of all financial prescripts

Below are the KRA of this position:

  • Be responsible for clearing of suspense accounts
  • Be responsible for capturing LOGIS and BAS payments as well as garnishee orders
  • Be responsible for administration of staff debts
  • Be responsible for administration of monthly payrolls
  • Be responsible for capturing and verifying fuel and S&T claims
  • Attend to BAS as well as any other salary related enquiries
