Salary: R3 000.00 monthly – R5 424.00 monthly

Type of work: 12 months contract & 24 months contract (Finance and Internal Audit)

Duties

Hence, these will be what you will be doing when you participate in uMzimkhulu Local Municipality Internship programme.

Internship Duties
Community and Social Services Interns ü  Working with the office of Operation Sukuma Sakhe

ü  Assisting in various duties allocated at the Sport Management Office

ü  Assisting in Coordinating Outreach Programme through visiting the Local Municipalities

Library Intern ü  Assisting the retrieval of borrowed library materials

ü  Assisting users with information

ü  Filing library materials for both numerically and alphabetically

Arts and Culture Intern ü  Doing office work activities and being responsible for the administrative responsibilities

ü  Assisting in all aspects of planning and logistics

Monitoring and Evaluation Intern ü  Assisting in compiling departmental report

ü  Performing all activities related to the implementation of new system

ü  Assisting in developing performance agreements and management of M&E risk

Communication Intern ü  Assisting in writing, copy and editing newsletter

ü  Assisting in organizing events and general communication management administration

ü  Performing any other duties

Internal Audit Intern ü  Assisting in conducting audit projects and preparation and seating of MPAC

ü  Assisting in administrative support and in facilitation of risk assessments

Customer Care Intern ü  Handling incoming complaints through telephones and walk-ins

ü  Capturing and following up complaints

ü  Performing other duties delegated

Horticulturist Intern ü  Providing daily supervision of garden staffs, volunteers and work crews

ü  Performing regular inspections to identify insect or disease problems

ü  Being responsible for the personal proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment

 

Requirements

Generally, to be able to take part in uMzimkhulu Local Municipality Internship programme, the applicants must have the minimum of Matric certificate and having computer literacy.

Internship Requirements
Community and Social Services Interns ·         Having three years of relevant qualifications in Social Sciences, Community and Social Services is non-negotiable
Library Intern ·         National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science
Arts and Culture Intern ·         Degree of Diploma in Arts and Culture is compulsory
Monitoring and Evaluation Intern ·         National Diploma in Business Administration or Bachelor of Administration (Local Government)
Communication Intern ·         National Diploma in Communications or Media and Journalism

·         Being able to do research and content development

·         Moreover, the applicants  who have qualifications for Animation, Art work design, or Branding will get an additional benefit

Internal Audit Intern ·         Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma majoring Internal Auditing, Auditing, Financial Accounting and Risk Management
Customer Care Intern ·         National Diploma in Public Administration

·         Besides, the applicants must have Customer Care Certificate

Horticulturist Intern ·         Having a National Diploma or degree in Horticulture or Landscaping is obligatory

·         Being able to work independently is necessary
