The Umuzi learnership programme is designed to help students with the potential and promising qualifications so they can get the skills that they want. After all, Umuzi Academy is a part of Umuzi Photo Club, which is a MICT SETA accredited training service provider. Every year the academy would provide a learnership opportunity for the potential candidates. The main purpose is to develop creative and skilled professionals for the next generation.
About the Programme
Umuzi learnership is a programme that lasts for one year (12 months). However, the time period is divided into different sessions or stages. The first 9 months would be spent doing Umuzi on-the-job training while the remaining 3 months would be spent in the partner media house or creative agency. It is expected that the end result after completing the learnership is an entry-level professional with high-caliber skills.
The successful candidates would get NQF Level 5 or National Certificate qualification after completing the learnership programme. Although they don’t guarantee permanent employment or position, around 80% of the candidates would secure a job within a top creative company before they graduate. But then again, it depends on the candidate’s qualifications and achievements.
The programme doesn’t require any fee although students would get a monthly stipend whose amount varies from R1500 to R2500.
