About the Program
Sasol is short for South Africa Synthetic Oil Liquid. The company, Sasol Limited, is an integrated chemical and energy company that is based in Sandton, South Africa. The company was established in 1950 and it is developing (as well as commercializing technologies for) different chemicals, electricity, and liquid fuels.

Be advised that this is a generally annual program, which means that offered programs can be different from year to year – it includes the placement, types of skills needed, and the requirements. In most cases, the learnership is available for mechanical, electrical, and also instrumentation fitter.
The Requirements
Interested candidates who want to apply for the program need to meet the basic requirements set by the company. For the minimum type, you have to possess the completed NSC or National Senior Certificate with at least 40% pass within these subjects:
- Business English of English SG/HG
- Mathematics or Technical Mathematics SG/HG
- Engineering Science, Physical Science, or Technical Science SG/HG
Or if you have a completely full certificate N3 with Business English, Engineering Science, and Mathematics, it should also be enough for the minimum requirement.
Considerations
There are some things that you need to remember if you want to join the Sasol learnership program:
- You are allowed to apply only once
- The process requires interviews, security clearance, psychometric assessment, qualification verification, and a fitness and medical assessment.
- You will be considered eligible (for the final selection) when you have completed all the verification
- This program is open and available only for the citizens of South Africa
