Receptionist/Telecom Operator Vacancy at Department of Water and Sanitation

Key Performance Areas:

  • Be responsible for operating the switchboard by handling outgoing calls and answering incoming calls
  • Be responsible for ensuring that customers are referred promptly as well as correctly
  • Be responsible for taking down messages as well as administering the correct distribution thereof
  • Be responsible for receiving visitors and directing them to the relevant managers
  • Be responsible for welcoming the visitors and determining the nature of the business
  • Be responsible for hosting the outbound and inbound incoming calls as well as directing them to relevant managers
  • Be responsible for attending all enquiries coming from receptionist desk
  • Be responsible for answering incoming calls and directing them to relevant managers
  • Be responsible for supplying basic information to customers regarding the department’s services
  • Be responsible for keeping reception area clean and tidy
  • Be responsible for receiving guests and visitors
  • Be responsible for distributing and updating the internal telephone directory and keeping database of other important contact numbers
  • Be responsible for fault reporting on TMS to monitor telephone fees, including verifying information and printing reports
