The Office of the Chief Justice is now looking for a suitable candidate to fill in the Principal Court Interpreter vacancy at North West High Court. Job Description

The successful candidate will be entitled to salary ranging from R 299 709 to R 353 043 every year. The qualified incumbent will also be needed to sign a performance agreement and will be stationed in Mahikeng. In order to be eligible for the position, all interested applicants must fulfil the minimum educational requirement which is a Grade 12certificate. Ideally, it should be accompanied by a National Diploma in Legal Interpreting at NQF level 5 but any other relevant qualification is also acceptable. Furthermore, the Principal Court Interpreter vacancy at North West High Court also requires candidates to have five years of practical experience as a Court Interpreter with at least two years of supervisory experience.

Job Desks:
- Conduct interpreting services in high profile and complex cases, pre-trail conferences, special cases, disciplinary hearings and consultations
- Develop terminology
- Translate exhibits and Legal Documents
- Procure Foreign Language interpreters as well as casual interpreters in accordance with the PFMA
- Supervise, control and attend to personnel administrative aspects of interpreters
- Conduct supervisory services in the legal interpreting as well as language environment
- Provide coaching and mentoring to senior or junior court interpreters
- Manage performance of court interpreters
- Manage leave management for language services at the high court as well as develop relevant language glossary
