Students who have just finished high school (or Grade 12) and wanted to continue their study to a higher degree can consider taking part in Mercedes Benz Bursary program. The program is designed to help financially struggling students to achieve their dreams in getting a better and higher degree of education. Hopefully, they can have a better career and a better future after they have completed their degree.

About the Program

As their way to contribute to the community and to give back to the society that has supported them, the company creates the Mercedes Benz Bursary program. The offered study fields are various, depending on the students.

For Centurion students, the offered subjects are:

  • Human Resources
  • Procurement

For East London students, the offered subjects are:

The bursary is designed to cover expenses like prescribed textbooks, foods, and tuition fees. Candidates must work at the Mercedes Benz spots in East London or Centurion during holidays. When they have graduated, they can join the Gradate MBSA Development Program.The Requirements

There are several basic requirements that candidates need to meet to be considered eligible for this program. The requirements include:

  • The candidates must be the citizens of South Africa
  • They must have completed Matric or at least in the Matric
  • They are studying or having the intention to study full time in one of the mentioned study field
  • They are studying or having the intention to study within one of the well-known and reputable university in South Africa
  • They must at least get 70% for overall average in Matric
  • They must at least get 65% for overall average for first semester
  • For engineering students, they must get the distinctions for Physical Science and Mathematics in Matric
  • They must not be Mercedes Benz employee
  • Priorities would be awarded to students coming from Eastern Cape Province and currently enrolled students. Preferences will also be given to first or second year students

How to Apply

Interested candidates must do the online application as it will be the only way to take part in the program. There are different links for different students. For Centurion, they can visit this link. For East London, they can visit this link. Once they click the link, they need to create an account so they can register to the website.

After filling out the application letter, they need to provide the following supporting documents, such as:

  • A certified copy of ID document
  • A certified copy of Matric certificate, if they have completed the study
  • A certified copy of Matric latest result if they are still currently in the Matric
  • A certified copy of the latest tertiary result if they are currently in tertiary institution
  • A comprehensive and updated CV in a pdf format

The deadlines for Centurion students are on December the 31st 2019 while the deadline for East London students are on January the 6th 2020.
