Do you wish to pursue your bachelor degree or national diploma? If financial obligations get in the way of your dreams then you can now apply for the Leomat Construction bursary program 2019. This award scheme aims at helping remarkable South African students who have done great in their academic career and would like to pursue higher education.

Overview

Established in 1979, Leomat is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering construction services business situated in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The company operates across Southern Africa. The Leomat Group of Companies encompasses three individual Pty ltd companies, namely the Leomat Construction and Plant Hire Durban Pty Ltd, Leomat Construction Pty Ltd and Leomat Plant Hire Pty Ltd.

It’s a family-owned company that provides numerous professional services, including industrial and process plants, civil engineering construction, pipeline and road construction, bulk earthworks, mining infrastructure, water infrastructure, turnkey projects and concrete structural construction.

This year, the company is proud to announce the new Leomat Construction bursary program 2019 which is aimed at high achieving South Africa students who wish to pursue their tertiary studies. The bursary is available for undertaking the following fields of study (National Diploma, BTech, BEng, and BSc):

  • Construction Management
  • Building Science
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Civil Engineering

The future qualified students will receive the following coverage: tuition fees, prescribed books, exam fees and residence.

Students will also be required to complete vacation work at the Leomat head Office situated in Richards Bay or onsite, during the holidays. Upon graduation, students will then be required to join Leomat and take up employment.

Shortlisted applicants will receive acknowledgment. Therefore, if you have yet to receive any feedback in 30 days after the deadline, you may assume your application as unsuccessful.

Suitability criteria:

Prior to submitting an application, it is important that you make sure you meet all the minimum requirements so as to ensure your application will be considered.

  • Must be South African citizen
  • must have completed matric
  • must be a current student (full time) majoring in one of the aforementioned fields of study at a recognised South African institution
  • must have completed their first year of study or be able to prove that the candidates will do so
  • must possess good academic history

Candidates with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Students from and residing in KwaZulu-Natal will receive preference.

You must also submit the following supporting materials along with the application form.

  • certified copy of ID document, matric certificate or latest results and full tertiary academic record to date
  • passport sized photo
  • a CV
  • proof of disability if applicable, such as medical letter of SASSA card
