Position: Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant (Seapoint)

Duties

These are some of the duties (but not limited to) of Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant.

• Helping the sale of both Schedule 1 and 2 medicines or substances scheduled before
• Assisting the processes of compounding and preparing the non-sterile medicine based on standard operating procedures
• Aiding the repackaging of medicines
• Lending a hand with the stock control and distribution of Schedule 1-5 medicines or scheduled substances
• Interpreting scripts accurately and acting professionally within the legal standards
• Giving assistance with the order of medicines including the Schedule 6 based on instruction in terms of the Medicines Act
• Providing information to all individuals in order to promote health
• Giving explanation about medical aid costs for the patients
• Giving appropriate instructions for patients related to the correct usage of medicine
• Aiding the reading, preparing, selecting and labelling the medicine
• Capturing scrip details accurately and verifying the details of all patients on the systems
• Maintaining customer profiles on systems
• Exercising stock, asset control, and cash
• Facilitating bi-annual stock takes
• Ensuring the accurate processes of picking, packing, labelling, and checking the medication
• Processing all the paperwork for the accurate submission of claims of medical aids
• Correcting errors on scripts
• Reporting on stock levels when there are low or out of stock
• Taking notes of messages on the customer profile
• Ensuring the authorization of chronic illnesses such as HIV or AIDS and oncology medication
• Following up with patients related to the script tracking reports requested by the dispensary
• Merging the profiles locally and UCS must be notified

Requirements
