The Department of International Relations and Cooperation is offering a comprehensive Learnership Programme for individuals interested in pursuing a career in international relations. The programme is designed to provide hands-on experience and training over a period of 36 months, commencing on April 1, 2024, and concluding on March 31, 2027.
Successful candidates will be stationed at the Department’s Head Office in Pretoria, gaining valuable insights into the workings of international relations and cooperation. The programme offers a stipend to participants based on their qualifications: R5,003.16 per month for NQF 4 (matriculation qualification), R7,043.31 per month for the National Diploma and Bachelor’s/Honours Degree, and R8,584.36 per month for the Master’s Degree.

Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for this learnership, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum NQF 4 (Matric) qualification; NQF 5 and above will be beneficial.
- Only first-time Learnership Programme participants will be considered.
- Candidates must be South African citizens aged between 18 and 35.
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
- Successful candidates will be required to sign an oath of secrecy.
- Availability for selection, interviews, and placement in Pretoria is mandatory.
- Own transport and accommodation are essential for candidates.
- All appointments are subject to citizenship verification, reference checks, and security vetting.
- Previous participants in any Government Department’s Learnership Programme will not be considered.
