The Civilian Secretariat for Police Service (CSPS) is excited to announce a new internship opportunity for the 2023/2024 financial year. The program will provide a unique, non-renewable 24-month experience for young and motivated individuals looking to kick-start their careers. This opportunity is open to unemployed graduates, aged between 18 and 35, who hold a Degree or National Diploma in a relevant field. However, please note that applicants who have previously undergone, or are currently participating in an internship program, will not be considered.

CSPS Internship Requirements
POST 03/20: Graduate Intern – Bachelor of Social Science in Social Work/ Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
Requirements: Bachelor of Social Work/ Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, ages 18 – 35, South African citizen, no criminal record, unemployed, never participated in an internship program.
POST 03/21: Graduate Intern – Human Resources Management
Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management, ages 18 – 35, South African citizen, no criminal record, unemployed, never participated in an internship program.
POST 03/22 : Graduate Intern: Labour Relations
Applicants must have a National Diploma or Degree in Labour Relations and be between the ages of 18 and 35. They must also be a South African citizen with no criminal record. Additionally, they must be unemployed and have never participated in an internship program previously.
POST 03/23: Graduate Intern – Civilian Oversight, Monitoring, and Evaluation
Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Development Studies, Public Administration, or Social Sciences in Policing, Criminology, Sociology, Population Studies, ages 18 – 35, South African citizen, no criminal record, unemployed, never participated in an internship program.
POST 03/24: Graduate Intern – Policy Development & Research
Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities with a module on research methodology and policy development, ages 18 – 35, South African citizen, no criminal record, unemployed, never participated in an internship program.
POST 03/25: Graduate Intern – Partnerships and Intergovernmental Relations
Requirements: National Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in Public Management/Administration, ages 18 – 35, South African citizen, no criminal record, unemployed, never participated in an internship program.

Requirements: Bachelor Degree of Law (LLB), ages 18 – 35, South African citizen, no criminal record, unemployed, never participated in an internship program.

To apply for this exciting opportunity, please send your application to the Civilian Secretariat for Police Service either by mail to Private Bag X922 Pretoria 0001, or by hand delivery or courier to 258 Lilian Ngoyi Street, Pretorius Street, Fedsure Building 2nd floor, Pretoria. Applications can be dropped off at the Reception Desk. Please note that late applications will not be accepted and failure to comply with these requirements will result in disqualification. Before submitting your application to the Civilian Secretariat for Police Service, please make sure to obtain the new prescribed application form Z83 of the Public Service Act. This form can be obtained from any Public Service Department, Public Service, and Administration website, or Recruitment Office within the Secretariat for Police Service.
While you are not required to submit copies of qualifications and other relevant documents at the time of application, it is important to submit a fully completed Z83 form and a detailed Curriculum Vitae that includes information about your past positions, dates, and key performance areas/responsibilities. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to provide certified documents, which will be communicated by the Department after the interview process.
