Duties
- Providing legal advice and also assistance for designing products, drafting, and vetting legal contract
- Providing holistic solutions for both internal and external clients
- Attending to all correspondence from the Industry Ombudsman
- Finalizing the commercial agreements in related with the contracting parties
- Providing the support for Financial Service Providers
- Representing Discovery in all legal matters before the Ombudsman for both Long-Term and Short-Term Insurance
- Overseeing the drafted contracts and all the policy documents with legislation
- Delivering outputs within the acceptable time frames
- Managing the external legal counsel
- Ensuring the regulatory changes have been applied into the business
- Overseeing the general functions within the legal division day by day
- Doing the liaison with the relevant Financial Industry Bodies
- Managing compliances and risk based on the company procedures and policies
Requirements
- Having a Bachelor’s Degree in Law is a must
- Having some years of experiences in drafting and also contract vetting and other documentation for insurance is essential
- Computer literacy is very essential especially Microsoft Office
- Excellent knowledge of Financial Services Industry regulations and legislation is important
- The applicants must have the knowledge of Regulatory requirements such as FICA, FAIS, Long Term and Short Term Insurance Act
