Duties
As a Research Grant Intern, you will be responsible for various duties, mainly revolving around Accounting and Administration, Data Processing (such as collecting data, analysis), and most importantly, Scientific Research Development. - Provide support in research grants applications development
- Development of internal departmental materials (checklists, templates, etc.)
- Research governance and compliance administrative tasks.\
- Support in moving databases into an online platform, maintaining databases and other related support duties.
- Administer a select few grant awards from cradle to grave.
AHRI’s operates at two sites i.e. Durban Research Campus and Somkhele Research Campus which is based in Mtubatuba. The person will be based at Durban however is required to make frequent trips to Somkhele.
Eligibility and Requirements

First, the minimum education is:
- 3-years Bachelor of Science or related qualification
Next, you must have the following experience because it will greatly help you in the job and will make you a better candidate for the employer:
- Previous experience in the field of TB, HIV or NCDs
Not only that, you will be working with a computer for this job, so you need the following skill:
- Microsoft Suite – Microsoft Excel, Word skills/experience required
