Learnership Information Detail
There are two basic trainings you must accomplished in the learnership that are the theoretical and practical training. They deal with the way of contributing to the rehabilitation of prisoners. This way, the learnership will teach you how to carry out the task through the corrections and human development according to the community-based correctional supervision.
The correctional services learnership will lead you to learn the skills and get the knowledge so that you can be accepted in the workplace. In this case, the learner can earn of R3 500-00 per month during the learnership program.
Minimum Requirements
Correctional services Dept which offers you the learnership require you to fill the minimum requirements below:
- South African citizenship.
- Standard 10/Grade 12 Certificate possession.
- A Further Education and Training Certificate NQF level 4 possession.
- National Certificate accomplishment in Vocational Studies (NQF level 4).
In order to successfully accepted in the learnership program, there are also some other requirements that you should fill. Those are the age limit which is 21 up to 35 years old, no criminal record and possessing a strong character.
Additional Qualifications
The dept of correctional services also has preferences that will be given to the applicants with some additional qualifications such as a Trade or Occupational-based Certificate, Diploma or Degree that is related to Security/Corrections. These additional qualifications are saying more to get highly paid in the learnership.
Workplace Training
In the workplace training, the candidates of correctional services Dept in the learnership must follow the training as a part of practical duty dealing with the rehabilitation and provision to security offender. The learners must also receive the monthly stipend during the training but they must pay the accommodation and meals as well as transport by themselves.
During the training, the learners must also be responsible for their own housing allowance, housing subsidy, pension fund, medical treatment, danger allowance and overtime working during the learnership program.
