If you are at the age of 18 to 30 years old, then you can get your CV ready to enroll. There will be Basic Training Phase for 9 months and Probation Phase for 12 months in this SAPS academy, in which stipend and service benefits will be included for the applicants who have successfully shortlisted in the programme. All the shortlisted applicants will then join in the SAPS Academy to undergo the Basic Police Development Training Programme. Then, after finishing the two phases of training, they will have place in any Police Station or Unit in South Africa with the rank of Constable.

Programme Description
Job Title: SAPS Police Trainee
Position: Trainee (will be appointed to rank of Constable after succession of training programme in the SAPS Academy)
Location: South Africa
Reference number: Graduate 2022/2023
Salary: Stipend of R4500 per month at the first 9 months and salary of R189 279 per annum for the next 12 months.
Duties/roles: to prevent/combat/and investigate a crime, maintain public order, protect the safety of public and their property, to uphold and enforce the law.
Eligibility and Requirements
There are some checks that you need to fulfill before applying in the programme, and those are:
- Have to be the South Africa Citizen.
- Should at least at the age of 18 to 30 years old when applying in the programme.
- Have no previous criminal cases which later will be proved with the background enquiries made.
- Have no tattoo which can be seen and will hinder their duties as police officer.
- People with disabilities are welcomed to join.
- Do not have any health conditions that can disrupt the training programme.
- Have the Body Mass Index of under 30 and waist measurement less than 102 cm for males and less than 88 cm for females.

The copies of certified versions of your:
- Personal ID.
- Senior Certificate or any educational qualifications and academic records that you have. Have the minimum 3 years of National Diploma or Degree that’s listed on the National Learners’ Database on NQF at the minimum of level 6 or higher.

- Vehicles driver licenses (optional).
