Old School Ties (OST) was established in September 2016 in response to the widespread frustration among educators in South Africa. The founder noticed that many teaching staff were eager to advance their careers but were unaware of the opportunities available at other schools. Meanwhile, head teachers were struggling to find new staff and had to rely on expensive print media, inefficient digital forums, or word-of-mouth.
To address these challenges, OST was created to bring together thousands of job seekers and employers in a single, convenient digital platform. The organization aims to be the go-to resource for schools seeking to hire any type of staff in Southern Africa. By providing a simple and efficient way for educators to connect with potential employers, OST is working to streamline the hiring process and help schools find the best possible candidates for their positions.
