NECSA (Nuclear Energy Corporation) offers a learnership opportunity with the name of NECSA Learnership 2022. This learnership is to be the learner reactor operator.

For the learners position of reactor operator itself, the learners will learn in-training technical skills for about 18-21 months in NECSA. The first 6-9 months, the learners will be in Phase I stage. Next, the Phase II stage will need about 12 month to end.

Duties

The Learner of Reactor Operators have several duties that they should do during the learnership programme. And those duties are as follow:

  • Prepared to work in shifts.
  • In-service training for the learners.
  • The incumbent must be medically fit in order to qualify as a noise; radiation and chemical worker.
  • The in-service training will be in English – therefore the ability to communicate well in spoken and written English will be a prerequisite.
  • Persons will need to undergo, amongst others, tests for suitable comprehension of Mathematics and English concepts. 
  • Must have own transport.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team. 
  • High integrity, dedicated and time management

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Technical Diploma in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics). People with experience in process plants will receive preference. 
  • Computer literacy. 
  • Have a Code EB (old Code 08) driver’s license at the date of appointment.
