These programs cover a range of Chambers within the safety and security sector, including Corrections, Defence, Justice, Legal, Police, Private Security, Secret Service and Intelligence, and recently acquired additions like Metro Police and Traffic Law Enforcement.

SASSETA is currently in the process of establishing parameters to issue bursaries for the “Missing Middle” starting from the 2019/2020 financial year. Bursaries are available for the following Chambers:

  1. Corrections
  2. Defence
  3. Justice
  4. Legal
  5. Police
  6. Private Security
  7. Secret Service and Intelligence
  8. Metro Police and Traffic Law Enforcement

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a SASSETA Funded Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African Citizen
  • Age between 18 and 35
  • Possession of a Grade 12 Certificate or any higher qualification
  • Ability to provide proof of registration/acceptance letter from a public Higher Education and Training Institution
