The GCRA Bursary Program offers a unique opportunity for eligible individuals to pursue undergraduate and post-graduate programs at accredited Post School Education and Training (PSET) institutions in South Africa. The program covers the full cost of study, subject to conditions outlined in the bursary contract.

  • Full Study Coverage: The bursary covers tuition fees, accommodation, prescribed books, and a stipend.
  • Top Performers Incentives: The Top 3 Grade 12 learners from no-fee paying, SSIP, and LSEN government schools in Gauteng receive special incentives to study at recognized Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges.
  • Preference for Gauteng Residents: Special preference is given to students residing in Gauteng, aligning with our commitment to local community development.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a GCRA Bursary, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • South African Citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • Age Requirement: Youth between the ages of 18 and 35 are eligible to apply.
  • Residence: Proof of Gauteng residence is required, which can be in the form of a utility bill or a letter from a ward councillor.
  • Academic Achievement: Certified copy of the South African ID, Matric Certificate, or the latest academic results.
  • Financial Documentation: Proof of income from parent(s) or guardian(s) or an affidavit.
  • Motivation Letter: A concise letter of motivation, not exceeding 2 pages, outlining the applicant’s aspirations and commitment to their chosen field of study.
  • Acceptance Letter: Proof of registration or acceptance letter from a PSET institution.
  • Special Cases: For applicants with disabilities, a medical report or relevant documentation is required.
