Job Description

Job Objectives:

  1. Financial Performance: Drive and maximize sales, track daily targets, and implement weekly and monthly sales plans. Take proactive actions as required to ensure the achievement of the store’s financial performance.
  2. Operational Management: Efficiently manage and control all operational activities, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration.
  3. Visual Merchandising: Oversee in-store execution of visual merchandising, ensuring the maintenance of in-store presentation and promotional standards in line with the brand image.
  4. Team Management: Build and lead a competent and motivated team through effective selection, leadership, management, and ongoing development.
  5. Staff Scheduling: Adequately schedule staff in accordance with the Group’s labor policy to ensure each department is fully and appropriately staffed.
  6. Administrative Responsibilities: Ensure efficient handling of administrative tasks, including weekly time and attendance, and submission of complete employee records to HR.
  7. Customer Service: Execute customer service initiatives in-store, taking corrective actions to enhance the customer experience, drive loyalty, and achieve club card participation targets.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment with an annual turnover of at least R50 million.
  • Extensive people management experience of a large and diverse workforce.
  • Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.).

Education:

  • Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%).
  • Essential: B. Degree or Diploma (retail/finance management, pharmacy, or related) for external applicants.
