The Electricity Generation and Distribution Department of The City of Cape Town is now offering an apprenticeship program, with job reference number NRG 01/23. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in the electrical field to gain hands-on experience and training. The apprenticeship comes with a salary of R127,328 per annum.

City of Cape Town Apprenticeship Requirements

The City of Cape Town’s Electricity Generation and Distribution Department is now offering an apprenticeship program. To be eligible for the program, applicants must have a minimum of an NTC 3 technical qualification in electrical trade theory, mathematics, engineering science, industrial electronics, or any other subject in the heavy current stream with a matric certificate. Alternatively, they must have a technical matric certificate (Grade 12 with English, electrical trade theory, mathematics, physical science, and any other subject) or a full NCV 4 electrical certificate with 7 subjects. Additionally, candidates should possess a passion for the electrical field, reside in the City of Cape Town metropolitan area, have a valid driver’s license (Code C1 or old Code 10 is preferred), and not have already qualified in any trade prior to the program’s commencement. Furthermore, they must not possess a National S Diploma or higher qualification.
