Two general worker positions have just opened up for applications within the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture within the Limpopo Provincial Administration. Job Description
There will be two successful candidates and each will be stationed at Schoemandsdal Museum in Vhembe District and Muti wa Va-Tsonga in Mopani District. All candidates are required to quote the reference number of the job location they are applying for within their application. The numbers are:
Muti wa Va-Tsonga: Sac 2018/17
Schoemandsdal Museum: Sac 2018/18
Both positions offer a level 2 salary which amounts to R 96 549 per annum. The General Worker vacancies at the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture require applicants to have a grade 10 qualification as the minimum qualification. However, having an ABET qualification level two or three will surely serve as an added advantage. Additionally, candidates are also expected to have job related competencies such as ability to write and read as well as communication skills.
Being a General Worker for the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture will require you to conduct the following duties:
- Perform routine activities in museum maintenance
- Make sure all maintenance materials, collection, cutting as well as transportation of raw materials are all available
- Be responsible for renovations and restorations of all museum traditional structures such as care for museum objects and collections, cleaning of museum structures and facilities, help with demonstrations during museum activities like daily guided tours, outreach programs, exhibitions, shows as well as educational programs and more
- Conduct routine activities related to livestock, e.g. inspection, care for museum livestock and treatment against ticks and other illnesses
- Conduct any manual labour needed for the effective operation of the museum as stipulated by the supervisor

- Certified copy of a valid code EB vehicle driver’s license (if applicable)
