Duties

In addition, participating in Gauteng EMS vacancies requires you to be able to handle these following duties.

• Being responsible for patients within the scope of practice of intermediate life support
• Transporting patients as a part of planned patient transport and inter-facility transfer system under Emergency Medical Service
• Providing emergency medical care and related assistance during special events
• Being responsible for care and proper management of Emergency Medical Services resources
• Providing emergency medical assistance and other duties as delegated by the Directorate
• Providing quality assurance to Basic Life Support Officers in the implementation of appropriate measures
• Also, performing any other duties as delegated by supervisor

Requirements

Furthermore, in order to be a qualified candidate, all applicants must have these following requirements.

• Having the minimum of Grade 12 with AEA certificate with registration with the current HPCSA of Ambulance Emergency Assistant is compulsory
• The applicants who have previous experience in emergency assistant care environment will gain an advantage
• Having a valid driver’s license Code 10 and valid professional driver’s PrDP permit for transporting patients is obligatory
