Programme Description
Position: Administration Officer – Directorate: Mortuary

Duties
This position comes with several different duties. First and foremost, you will be managing the mortuary. This includes:
- Ensure daily recording of fridge temperatures and reporting of the faults.
- Management of collection of the corpses from the wards and service points within an hour.
- Ensure daily cleaning of the mortuary by adhering to safety and hygienic protocols.
- Daily movement of unnatural cases of bodies to Forensic Pathology.
After that, you also have a customer service duty towards the deceased’s families, please check the list of duties below:
- Daily follow-up with the families for removal of the bodies in the mortuary.
- Continues communication with the security team in tracing families for the deceased.
- Attending telephonic and verbal enquiries.
- Ensure that the paupers in the hospital are buried with the complying process.
You will be responsible to manage the team and staff as well, so you will do:
- Supervision of the staff in the mortuary and ensure full coverage of the shifts.
- Conduct meetings with the staff.
- Apply disciplinary measures as and when required
Last but not least, you have the administration duties. This revolves around managing data and information. Please check the complete list below:
- Daily updating and fully recording of information required by TPH205 mortuary register.
- Compiling daily, weekly and monthly statistics as required.
- Ensure that all deceased have completed DHA1663A and D28 affidavit required for unnatural death.
- Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (contracting, quarterly reviews and final assessment).
Eligibility and Requirements

- Grade 12 with three to five years Patient Affairs experience.

- Computer Literacy (MS Office).

- Sound verbal and written communication skills and Good customer skills.

- Three years National Diploma in Public Management/ Administration will be an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
