CETA Thapelo Madibeng Bursary Program

Applications are now invited for the Construction Education and Training Authority or CETA Thapelo Madibeng bursary program 2019. Students who wish to pursue their tertiary studies in Construction or Built Environment are all encouraged to apply. Anyone who is not a family member of CETA employees or current recipient of CETA funding is eligible.

Description

CETA was formed in 2000. It is aimed at provide positive influence for skills development and training in the construction industry. They are responsible for initiating skills learnerships and projects to develop and enhance the human resources within South Africa as well as the construction workforce. It is accredited as an Education and Training Quality Assurance and its mission is to develop a strong base of skills as the base for economic empowerment as well as infrastructural development. It also awards bursary to deserving students who are interested to have a career in the field that CETA focuses on. They have recently changed the bursary name to Thapelo Madibeng bursary in memory of the late Mr Thapelo Madibeng who was a core business executive that passed away in August 2018.

The bursary will be awarded in the following fields:

  • University studies:
  • Quantity Surveying (Bachelor of Science degree)
  • Architecture (Bachelor of Science degree)
  • Land Surveying (Bachelor of Science degree)
  • Real Estate (Bachelor of Science degree)
  • Urban and Regional Planning (Bachelor of Science degree)
  • Construction Management (Bachelor of Science degree)
  • Civil Engineering (Advanced Diploma)
  • Property Development (Bachelor of Science degree)
  • Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Science degree)
  • Geomatics (Bachelor degree)

The CETA Thapelo Madibeng bursary program 2019 will cover tuition fees, stationery, prescribed textbooks, meals and accommodation in residence up to R 80,000 per year.

Entry Requirements

  • South African no older than 35 years of age
  • Achieved at least overall average of 60% and level 5 for Maths as well as Physical Science in matric
  • Studying as a full time student in one of the aforementioned fields towards an undergraduate/postgraduate qualification at a registered and recognised South African tertiary institution
  • passed the current year of study and haven’t failed more than two subjects
  • household income not exceeding R 350,000/year
  • students from designated groups will receive preference

  • an application form
  • certified copy of birth certificate/ID
  • certified copy of matric June results (for current matric students) or matric certificate (if completed matric) or full academic record (for current tertiary students)
  • proof of acceptance to study at a tertiary institution
  • certified copy of proof of income of parents/guardians such as latest payslips, affidavit, death certificate, pension, social grant or doctors certificate
